Each adult team is also required to hold a fund raising party.
It can be at a venue of your choosing, or at ours. This can
raise funds for your team as well as for our program. At that
party we will offer prize raffles from our sponsors, including
(not confirmed, but at an advance stage of negotiations) a
package trip to South Africa, w/ flight, hotel and WC tickets
included.
The tournament itself will take place over the course of
June 5th & 6th at Aviator Sports Complex escellent turf
fields. The school team will play a game -supported by their
paired adult team and then the adult team will play... supported
by the school team. The first two teams from each group will
move on to the playoff round and eventually the final.
Questions.
- Who can enter?
The tournament is open both to mens and coed teams. We will
pair 16 mens teams with 16 middle schools and 16 coed teams
with 16 elementary schools.
- How much?
$850 a portion of which will be tax deductible. Play
Study Win is a 501c3 not for profit organization
- What do I get for that?
Entry into this high profile tournament. Your money pays for
uniforms, referees, all the normal stuff, plus it underwrites
the 6 week training program in the school. We will also allocate
some on-field training time for your team prior to the tournament.
We were approached by the South African Consulate to organize
this tournament... it has their official seal of approval
and their and the participating sponsors PR machines behind
it. (See photo of us with World
Cup CEO Danny Jordaan at a meeting at the Consulate this
summer.)
Entry into various parties and after parties organized by
our sponsors.
There are a bunch of other benefits that we have still to
confirm, including tickets, entry to the World Cup trophy
tour when it comes to NYC in the Spring. etc.
- Can I pick the national team that I want?
Generally speaking, no. However, we will listen to your story
if you can make a good case for it. Perhaps your team is from
a social club that has thousands of members from a particular
nationality and you could organize a huge fund-raising party
there...We already have one team who will be organizing one
party a month for us from Feb, through June... or perhaps
your company wishes to sponsor the tournament. Most of the
time however, we will assign teams from a blind draw. we think
it would be fun to represent another country.
- My company may wish to sponsor the tournament. How does
that work?
We have various levels of sponsorship, some of them come with
team entry included. The tournament will be an excellent way
to promote your organization. This will be a high profile
tournament with lots of media attached. In addition, you are
helping underprivileged kids in the tri state area and promoting
he game of soccer and playing in a fun an exciting tournament
and some part is tax deductible. Please contact us if your
company wishes to participate at this level. We can send you
a full sponsorship deck.
In addition to pre and post tournament media exposure, we
are also putting together a tour vehicle which will be branded
by our sponsors and will visit all the schools in our program
and other locations across the Tri State area.
-This seems like a lot of work for us. Is it?
No, not really.. We'd love you to become involved in every
aspect of the event... show up at the school when the tour
vehicle is there, invite some children from your team to your
workplace, go to all the parties and learn about the nation
you are representing. Alternatively, you can pay the fee,
throw one fund-raising party and then show up and play on
the day!
What's next?
If you're still interested... and if you've got this far in
the email, that could be a given... please
drop us a line and we'll answer any questions you might
have.
Here's to a great tournament!
